The Kalfresh team and their families came together for a great cause at the recent Kalbar Sunflower 🌻 Festival.
A flush of sweet corn provided the incentive for a corn stall at the festival of 1-million sunflowers.
The team worked together to man a stall across three days, selling bags of farm-fresh corn to the 12,000+ crowd.
Our sales crew, boasting the children of our amazing staff, proudly spruiked our ‘Best Corn Ever’.
The Kalbar Sunflower Festival was introduced by locals Jenny and Russell Jenner three years ago as a way of pivoting from water-hungry lucerne during dry conditions.
They sought a crop that used less water and settled on Sunflowers.
They partner with the QLD Cancer Council and donate a portion of the sale of the sunflowers to the organisation.
Kalfresh decided to do the same and donated $2200 of the sweet corn proceeds to the QLD Cancer Council.
