A Force For Good

At Kalfresh, we balance profit and purpose and believe our business can be a force for good.

Our community spirit has always been intrinsically linked to the families of our farmers and employees, whether supporting their children’s schools, local sporting clubs, community organisations, or the charitable causes close to hearts of those who work for us. Whether that’s in the form of cash donations, in-kind donations or donations of fresh produce.

We work closely with food relief organisations Foodbank and OzHarvest to reduce edible food waste and ensure nutritious fresh produce gets to those who need it most. Each year we donate thousands of tonnes of produce during times of excess or challenged supply, and are also part of Foodbank’s Purchasing Partner Program.

Kalfresh partners with local, state and federal governments, industry and advocacy bodies, and educators to promote and support investment in horticulture, and more broadly agriculture in the Scenic Rim. We actively support and host events that connect decision makers, city consumers and our region’s youth with the farmers who grow their food.

We’ve been a proud sponsor of the Scenic Rim Eat Local Month since 2011 and host one of its signature events – Carrot Day. It’s the one day of the year we open our doors to the public.
